4K Plus vs 4K Max at a glance
| 4K Plus (2025) | 4K Max (2nd gen, 2023) | |
|---|---|---|
| System | Fire OS 8 | Fire OS 8 |
| Memory | 2 GB | 2 GB |
| Storage | 8 GB | 16 GB |
| Wi-Fi | Wi-Fi 6 | Wi-Fi 6E |

The memory is what makes channel lists and TV guides feel quick, and both have the same. The 4K Max’s extra storage matters if you install several players, keep a long TV guide or record.
Set it up for IPTV
- Set it up and update it: set up a Firestick.
- Install your player: install an IPTV player on Firestick.
- Turn on Match Original Frame Rate for UK channels.
- Keep an eye on storage: with 8 GB, clear caches and remove unused apps now and then. See Fire TV storage full.
Good to know
- Check the box says Fire OS. Amazon also sells Vega OS sticks, the Fire TV Stick 4K Select and the 2026 Fire TV Stick HD, which can’t install players from outside the Appstore. See Vega OS and IPTV.
- Wired option: Amazon lists the 4K Plus as compatible with its micro-USB Ethernet adapter. See Firestick Ethernet adapter.
