IPTVX: setup on Apple devices and Fire OS

IPTVX is an IPTV player from Bending X that started on Apple devices and now also runs on Android and Fire OS. It’s known for a film-app-style interface over your own playlists, with a TV guide, recording and sync across devices. It contains no channels: you add an Xtream Codes login or an M3U playlist.

What IPTVX is

IPTVX is a player: it organises and plays the channels, films and series from a subscription you already have. It began on Apple devices and now covers Android, Google TV and Fire OS as well, which makes it one of the few polished players a mixed household can use everywhere. Its interface borrows from streaming apps, with posters, “continue watching” and recommendations laid over your own playlist.

Install IPTVX on a Fire TV Stick

The developer publishes an official Fire OS installation route. In summary:

  1. Check the system. Go to Settings > My Fire TV > About and confirm the device runs Fire OS. Vega OS models (the Fire TV Stick 4K Select and the 2026 Fire TV Stick HD) can’t install it.
  2. Turn on developer options. In Settings > My Fire TV > About, highlight the device name and press the centre button of the remote seven times.
  3. Install Downloader. Search the Amazon Appstore for Downloader (by AFTVnews) and install it, then allow it under Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options > Install Unknown Apps.
  4. Download IPTVX. In Downloader, enter https://iptvx.app/fire-tv/ and download the official signed build.
  5. Install and sign in. Install the file, open IPTVX and sign in with your IPTVX account.

The Fire OS version doesn’t include Amazon billing, so buy the subscription through Google Play (or the App Store) and sign in with the same account on the Fire TV. To update, install the newer file over the existing app rather than uninstalling first, which keeps your data. For the Fire TV side in more depth, see developer options on Fire TV and our Fire TV guide.

Add your playlist

  1. Open IPTVX and choose to add a playlist.
  2. Pick Xtream Codes and enter the server address, username and password, or pick M3U and enter your playlist link. See where to find your login details.
  3. Let IPTVX load the channels, films, series and guide.
  4. If the guide doesn’t match your channels, use custom EPG assignment to link channels to the right guide entries; see EPG not loading for the usual causes.

On a TV, phone pairing lets you sign in or enter details from your phone instead of typing with the remote.

Features worth knowing

  • Multiplatform sync: favourites, progress and settings follow you across Apple devices and eligible Android devices.
  • Multi-channel viewing and picture-in-picture for live TV. Each stream uses a connection on your subscription; see too many connections.
  • Recording, with IPTVX Media Server on a NAS or Mac for recording and organising media.
  • Organisation: custom favourites and category order, renaming categories, favourites with tags, and a PIN lock for playlists.
  • Live TV search and programme reminders, plus skip intro and a playback queue for series.
  • Casting and AirPlay 2 to other screens.

If something goes wrong

  • Login fails: check the server address and port, and whether it starts with http or https. See Xtream Codes login details.
  • Channels buffer: test your connection and Wi-Fi first; see IPTV buffering.
  • Fire TV won’t install it: make sure the device runs Fire OS and that Downloader is allowed to install unknown apps.

Alternatives

On Apple TV the closest alternative is UHF; see IPTVX vs UHF. On Android TV and Fire TV, the best-known alternative is TiviMate; see the best IPTV apps for Firestick and for Apple TV.

FAQ

IPTVX questions

Is IPTVX free?

IPTVX is free to download, and its full feature set comes with a subscription. The developer doesn’t publish prices on its website, so check the plans inside the app. On Fire TV there’s no Amazon billing: subscribe through Google Play or the App Store and sign in with the same account.

Does IPTVX work on Fire TV?

Yes, on Fire OS devices, using the developer’s official signed download at iptvx.app/fire-tv/ through the Downloader app. It can’t be installed on Vega OS Fire TVs, which only accept Appstore apps.

Is IPTVX better than UHF?

Both are strong on Apple TV. IPTVX also runs on Android, Google TV and Fire OS, and plays from Plex and SMB shares on Apple devices; UHF stays on Apple devices and adds Jellyfin and Emby. See IPTVX vs UHF.

How does IPTVX record?

IPTVX lists recording among its features and offers IPTVX Media Server, which runs on a NAS or a Mac, for recording and organising media.
