Xtream Codes

Xtream Codes login explained: server, username and password

Most IPTV player apps ask for an “Xtream Codes” login: a server address, a username and a password. It’s the easiest way to load live TV, the guide, films and series in one go, as long as each field is entered exactly right.

When you order or start a trial, we send your login in the format your device needs. For most player apps, including TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro and SmartOne IPTV, that’s an Xtream Codes login. It has three parts, and the player uses them to fetch everything else automatically.

Server (URL, host, portal)The address of the server that holds your subscription, plus a port numberhttp://server.example:8080

PasswordYour account passworda1b2c3d4

Some players also ask for a name or playlist name. That’s just a label for your own use; type anything, such as “Home”.

The name comes from software that was once widely used to manage IPTV services. The software itself is long gone, but its login format became a standard that almost every player now supports. You’ll also see it called Xtream API, Xtream Codes API or Xtream IPTV.

Why Xtream Codes is usually the best option

With an Xtream Codes login, the player asks the server for everything it needs:

  • Live channels, grouped into categories.
  • The programme guide (EPG), matched to each channel automatically.
  • Films and series, with artwork and descriptions where available.
  • Catch-up, on channels that support it.
  • Account information, such as when your plan ends.

When the line-up changes, the player picks up the changes the next time it refreshes, so there’s nothing to re-enter. An M3U playlist can do some of this, but usually needs a separate guide link and doesn’t always include films and series.

How to enter an Xtream Codes login correctly

Almost every login problem comes down to one character. These rules prevent nearly all of them:

  1. Copy and paste each field from our welcome message rather than typing it, especially on a phone.
  2. Include http:// at the start of the server address. Some players add it automatically; if yours shows it already, don’t type it twice.
  3. Keep the port number. It’s the number after the colon, such as :8080. Without it, the player can’t reach the server.
  4. Don’t add anything after the port unless it’s in our message. No trailing words, and no / unless we included one.
  5. Watch for capitals and spaces. Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive, and a space pasted at the end is invisible but fatal.

Troubleshooting Xtream Codes logins

“Invalid username or password” or “Authorization failed”

Re-paste the username and password from our message, checking for capital letters and trailing spaces. If you’ve recently renewed, make sure you’re using the latest details we sent.

“Server not found”, “Connection refused” or a spinning wheel

Check the server address starts with http:// and includes the port. Make sure your device has internet access: open another streaming app. Some public Wi-Fi networks, such as hotels and offices, block the ports IPTV uses; try at home or on mobile data.

It worked yesterday and doesn’t today

Your trial or plan may have ended; check the expiry date in your player’s account information. If it hasn’t, look at our service status page and then message us.

Channels load but the guide is empty

Refresh the guide in the player’s settings and check your device’s time zone. More in TV guide (EPG) problems.

Keep your login private

Your login is personal. Sharing it outside your household breaks our terms, and if several people use it at once, streams will stop because your plan’s connections are in use. If you think someone else has your details, message us and we’ll issue new ones.

FAQ

Xtream Codes questions

What is an Xtream Codes login?

A three-part IPTV login (server address, username and password) that player apps use to load your channels, programme guide, films and series automatically. It’s also called Xtream API or Xtream IPTV.

What do I put in the “URL” or “server” field?

The server address from your welcome message, including `http://` and the port number after the colon, for example `http://server.example:8080`. Don’t add anything after the port unless we sent it.

Is Xtream Codes better than M3U?

For most players, yes. Xtream Codes loads the guide, films and series automatically and updates as the line-up changes. M3U is useful for players and devices that don’t support Xtream Codes. See M3U playlists explained.

Why does my Xtream Codes login fail?

Usually a typing error: a missing `http://`, a missing port, or an extra space in the username or password. Copy and paste each field from our message. If your trial or plan has ended, the login will also stop working.

Can I use the same Xtream Codes login on several devices?

Yes. Add it to players on as many devices as you like. With one connection, one stream plays at a time. See screens and connections.
