Make sure it’s the genuine app
GSE has been around for years, and its name appears on many unrelated apps. When we searched Google Play, a “GSE IPTV Player” from a different developer appeared next to the genuine listings. Before installing or paying:
- Check the developer is droidvision on Google Play, or the seller is GSE TECHNOLOGY LTD on the App Store.
- Be wary of any “GSE” app that asks you to pay before you’ve added your own playlist.
Which version to install
| Device | Genuine listing | Price (UK, Sept 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Android phone, tablet, Android TV | GSE SMART IPTV PRO | £2.39 |
| Android, free with ads | GSE SMART IPTV | Free |
| iPhone and iPad | GSE SMART IPTV PRO | £2.99 |
| Apple TV | GSE SMART IPTV PRO (Apple TV version) | £4.99 |
The free Android version is described by the developer as the “free version of GSE SMART IPTV Pro”. The Apple versions haven’t been updated for a while (November 2022 for iPhone and iPad, October 2023 for Apple TV), so on Apple devices compare GSE with actively updated players first; see the best IPTV apps for Apple TV.
Add your playlist
- Open GSE and go to the playlist section.
- For an Xtream Codes login, choose the Xtream Codes API option and enter the server address, username and password. This loads live TV and VOD with guide and film information. See Xtream Codes login details.
- For an M3U link, add a remote playlist and paste the address. See what an M3U link is.
- Add the XMLTV guide address in the EPG section if it doesn’t load automatically. GSE accepts xml, zip and gz guide files. See how to add an EPG.
Features worth knowing
- 31 languages that you can switch in the app, including Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish.
- Subtitles: embedded subtitles, including DVB teletext and DVB subtitles, and external SRT files.
- Automatic reconnection when a live stream drops.
- Chromecast from Android and iPhone, and AirPlay on Apple devices.
- Recording of live TV, listed on the Apple and Mac versions.
GSE or a newer player?
GSE is cheap and flexible, and its language support is broad. Its interface is older than players such as TiviMate on Android TV or IPTVX on Apple devices. For phones, see IPTV on Android phones and the best IPTV apps for iPhone and iPad.
