TiviMate

TiviMate error codes explained

When TiviMate can’t load a playlist or play a channel, it usually shows the error the server sent back, such as 403 or 404, or a message from its video player. Those codes aren’t TiviMate’s own inventions: most are standard web codes with a fixed meaning. That makes them a reliable clue to the cause.

Where TiviMate’s errors come from

  • Numbered codes (401, 403, 404, 458 and so on) come from your provider’s server. TiviMate asked for your playlist or a channel, and the server refused.
  • Messages from the video player, such as data source exceptions or playback errors, mean a stream started but couldn’t be read.
  • “Playlist can’t be loaded” means the channel list didn’t download, usually with a code that says why.

The codes

502 / 503 / 504The server, or something in front of it, failed or is overloadedWait and retry; it’s the provider’s side

Messages without numbers

  • Data source or HTTP data source exception: the stream request failed. Try the channel again, switch the stream format between MPEG-TS and HLS, and check your connection. See TiviMate buffering.
  • “Failed to get data from server”: TiviMate couldn’t reach the server at all. Check the server address and try mobile data to rule out a network block. See server unavailable.
  • No information in the guide: a guide problem, not a playback one. See TiviMate EPG.

A quick routine for any TiviMate error

  1. Note the code and message exactly.
  2. Try another channel, then the same login in another app or on another device.
  3. Restart TiviMate (force stop it) and your router.
  4. If the error is on every channel and every device, contact your provider with the code and time.

FAQ

TiviMate error questions

What does error 458 mean in TiviMate?

458 isn’t a standard web code; some IPTV server platforms use it when an account’s connections are already in use. Close TiviMate and other players on your other devices, wait a few minutes and try again. If it continues, ask your provider.

What does “data source exception” mean in TiviMate?

It comes from TiviMate’s video player and means the stream couldn’t be read from the server: the connection failed, timed out or returned an error. Test the channel again, try another stream format, and check your connection.

Is TiviMate down?

TiviMate is a player; it doesn’t host channels. If nothing loads, the cause is almost always your provider’s server, your login or your connection. See is IPTV down for how to tell.
