What the Companion app does
According to its Google Play listing, the app is “intended to unlock Premium functionality of TiviMate IPTV player on devices without Google Play”, and “allows managing your activated devices also”. The listing also makes a point of saying it isn’t an IPTV player app.
You need it when TiviMate runs on a device without Google Play, most often a Fire TV Stick, and you want Premium.
Install it
- On an Android phone or tablet, open Google Play and search for TiviMate Companion.
- Check the developer is Armobsoft FZE, the same developer as TiviMate, and install it.
- Open it and create or sign in to your TiviMate account.
Similar names on the Apple App Store belong to other developers. If you don’t have an Android phone, use a TiviMate account on tivimate.com instead.
Unlock Premium on a Fire TV
- In the Companion app, buy or restore Premium on your account.
- On the Fire TV, open TiviMate’s settings and go to the Premium or account section.
- Follow the on-screen steps to link the device to your account.
- Check that the device appears in the Companion app’s device list.
The exact wording of each screen changes between versions; the principle is always: Premium lives on your account, and each device is activated against it.
Manage devices
When you replace a device, deactivate the old one in the Companion app before activating the new one, so it doesn’t count against your allowance.
Common problems
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Can’t log in | Check the account email and password; reset the password from the sign-in screen; update the app |
| Premium not showing on the TV | Make sure the TV is signed in to the same account, then restart TiviMate |
| “Device limit reached” | Deactivate a device you no longer use in the Companion app |
| Can’t find the app | It’s for Android phones and tablets; check you’re on Google Play |
