IPTV error 404 (not found)

A 404 means the server answered, but what your app asked for isn’t there. On IPTV it’s almost always an address problem: a channel that moved, a playlist your app hasn’t refreshed, or a server address typed with an extra part on the end.

What 404 means

404 Not Found means the server has nothing at the address the app requested. The server itself is reachable and working, which rules out most network problems straight away. Something about the address is wrong or out of date.

Where the 404 happens tells you the cause

Fix an out-of-date channel list

Apps keep a copy of your channel list so they start quickly. When the provider changes stream addresses, that copy points to places that no longer exist.

  1. Open your app’s playlist or profile settings.
  2. Choose the option to update, refresh or reload the playlist. Some apps call it “Update now” or “Reload”.
  3. Wait for the channel count to finish loading, then try the channel again.
  4. If there’s no refresh option, remove the playlist and add it again with the same details.

Check the server address

When you log in with a server address, username and password, the server address must be only the base address, usually http:// plus the host name and a port such as :8080. A common mistake is pasting a full playlist link into the server field, with /get.php and other text after the port. The app then builds addresses that don’t exist, and every request returns 404.

Our Xtream Codes login guide shows exactly which part goes in each field.

If you use an M3U link, compare it with the original character by character. Long links are easy to break when you type them with a TV remote: a missing letter, a swapped 0 and O, or a trailing space all produce a 404. Copy it from a phone where you can, or use your app’s web upload page if it has one. The M3U guide explains what each part of the link does.

When it isn’t fixable at home

If a freshly added playlist still returns 404 on everything, the address you were given no longer exists on the server, or your account has been removed. Ask your provider for current details. For the other codes, see IPTV error codes explained.

FAQ

Error 404 questions

Why does one channel show 404 when the others work?

That channel’s stream address has changed or the channel has been removed from the server, while your app still holds the old address. Refreshing the channel list usually fixes it. If it doesn’t, the channel is currently unavailable on the server.

Why does my whole playlist give 404?

The playlist link itself is wrong or no longer valid. Check the link against the one your provider sent, character by character, or ask for a fresh link.

Can a 404 mean my account has expired?

Some servers answer requests from expired accounts with 404 instead of a clear “expired” message. If every channel and the playlist itself return 404, check your account status with your provider.
