Is IBO Player in the Amazon Appstore?

IBO Player’s downloads page offers an Android APK for streaming sticks, at iboplayer.com/app_downloads/ibop.apk, rather than an Appstore link. On a Fire OS device you install it with Downloader.

Can I install IBO Player on a Fire TV Stick 4K Select?

No. The 4K Select and the 2026 Fire TV Stick HD run Vega OS, which installs Appstore apps only. Use a Fire OS stick, or the IBO Player app on your TV if it’s supported.

Is the IBO Player on Google Play the official one?

We haven’t verified any Google Play listing with “IBO” in its name as the official app. IBO Player’s own website offers the Android download directly, so that’s the one to use.

Install IBO Player on Firestick and Android TV

Install IBO Player on Fire TV and Android TV

IBO Player’s website offers its Android app as a direct download rather than a store listing, so on a Fire TV Stick or an Android TV box you install it with a downloader app. It takes about five minutes. After that, everything happens on the IBO Player website: you add your playlist there, and after the 7-day trial you buy a licence for the device.

Check your Fire TV runs Fire OS

Install Downloader

Search for Downloader in the Appstore and install it. See the Downloader guide.

Allow Downloader to install apps

Open SettingsMy Fire TVDeveloper optionsInstall unknown apps and switch on Downloader. If Developer options is hidden, see how to show it.

Download the official app

Open Downloader and enter iboplayer.com/app_downloads/ibop.apk, the address on IBO Player’s downloads page. When the download finishes, choose Install, then delete the file to save space.

Note the MAC address and device key on screen. You’ll need both on the IBO Player website.

Install it on an Android TV or Google TV box

The same official download works on Android devices:

Install a downloader or file manager from Google Play.
Allow that one app to install others. See Google TV developer options for where the setting is.
Download iboplayer.com/app_downloads/ibop.apk and install it.

Google Play has several apps with “IBO” in the name from different developers, and we haven’t verified any of them as the official app. See IBO Player vs IBO Player Pro and look-alikes.

After installing

Add your playlist on the IBO Player website with the MAC address and device key. See add a playlist to IBO Player.
Test it during the 7-day trial. IBO Player’s FAQ warns not to buy without a working playlist, and states there are no refunds.
Activate the device on the official site if you want to keep it. See IBO Player activation.

IBO Player’s FAQ also notes that a device has one MAC address for Wi-Fi and another for Ethernet, so the MAC can change if you switch connection. If the app suddenly shows a different MAC, that’s why; see MAC address for IPTV.
