Install the right app
- Open the App Store on your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV and search for IBO PLAYER.
- Check the seller is ibrahim akoum before installing. “Ibo Player Pro” is from the same seller; “ibo Pro Player” and “Ib Player” are from different sellers. See IBO Player vs IBO Player Pro and look-alikes.
- Install and open the app, then note the MAC address and device key it shows.
Add your playlist
You don’t type your playlist into the app. On a phone or computer, open the IBO Player website, enter the MAC address and device key, and add your M3U link or Xtream Codes details there. Then restart the app. The full steps are in add a playlist to IBO Player.
The trial and paying
The App Store listing describes a 7-day free trial. To keep using the app after that, the UK listing showed an in-app purchase called Active at £9.99 when we checked. IBO Player’s own FAQ warns not to pay without a working playlist and states there are no refunds, so use the trial to check everything plays first. Licences bought on the IBO Player website are covered in IBO Player activation.
Apple TV and Mac tips
- Apple TV: set up the playlist from your phone or computer, since typing on a TV remote is slow. For smoother motion on UK channels, turn on frame-rate matching; see Apple TV match content.
- Mac: the App Store version runs on macOS 10.15 or later. IBO Player’s website also offers its own macOS download for Intel Macs.
Alternatives on Apple devices
If you want a player with a fuller TV guide on Apple TV, the most common choices are IPTVX and UHF. See IPTVX vs UHF and Apple TV for IPTV.
