Can your Mac run it?
| Mac | Smarters Player Lite? | Use instead |
|---|---|---|
| Apple silicon (M1 or later), macOS 12.5 or later | Yes, from the Mac App Store | |
| Apple silicon on an older macOS | Update macOS to 12.5 or later first | |
| Intel Mac | No | VLC, IPTVnator, or IBO Player’s Intel download |
To check your Mac, open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac: it shows the chip (Apple M-series or Intel) and the macOS version.
Install and add your playlist
- Open the Mac App Store and search for Smarters Player Lite.
- Check the seller is WHMCS SMARTERS, then install it. See Smarters Player Lite explained for the look-alikes to avoid.
- Open the app and add your provider’s M3U playlist link. The listing describes M3U and JSON playlist support.
If your provider sent Xtream Codes details instead of a link, build an M3U link with our Xtream Codes to M3U converter. The UK listing showed one optional in-app purchase, Buy Premium Version (£1.99 in September 2026); it unlocks app features only, never channels.
On an Intel Mac
- VLC plays an M3U link for free: FileOpen Network, paste the link and open it. See watch IPTV in VLC.
- IPTVnator is a free desktop IPTV player with a TV guide.
- IBO Player offers its own macOS download for Intel Macs on its website, with the same 7-day trial and licence as on other devices. See IBO Player.
More options, including App Store players for Apple silicon Macs, are in IPTV on Mac. For Windows, see IPTV Smarters on a Windows PC.
