What the server tells your app
When an app signs in with an Xtream Codes login, the server replies with account information. Open-source documentation of that reply shows fields such as:
- status, for example “Active”,
- exp_date, the end date as a timestamp,
- is_trial, whether the account is a trial,
- max_connections and active_cons, the connection limit and how many are in use.
An app shows “account expired” when the status says so, or the end date has passed. With an M3U link, there’s no account screen: an ended account usually just stops loading, or the link returns an error.
Fixes, in order
1. Check the end date
Look for an account or playlist information screen in your player; many show the expiry date the server reports. Compare it with what you paid for. Trials often end after a set number of hours or days.
2. If you’ve just renewed, refresh the app
Apps cache account details. Refresh or update the playlist, or remove the login and add it again. On a TV, closing the app fully (or restarting the device) also forces a fresh sign-in.
3. Check you renewed the right account
If you have more than one login, for example an old trial and a paid account, make sure the app uses the one you renewed. Compare the username in the app with the one in your renewal confirmation.
4. Ask your provider
If the end date is in the future but the app still says expired, or the status shows something other than active, only the provider can see why. Send them the username (never the password in a public chat), the message and when it started.
Expired, invalid or blocked?
| Message | What it means | See |
|---|---|---|
| “Account expired” | Login recognised; end date passed or account inactive | This page |
| “Authorization failed”, “invalid credentials”, error 401 | The login itself wasn’t accepted | Authorization failed |
| “Too many connections”, “max connections” | Login fine; too many streams at once | Too many connections |
| Error 403 | The server refuses access, for example by IP or app | Error 403 |
Be careful with renewal messages
Messages that say your IPTV account has expired and ask you to pay through a link are a common scam. Renew only through the channel you used to buy, and check the sender. See how to spot IPTV scams.
Our customers can renew and check their plan in the help centre.
