Where Net IPTV fits
Net IPTV’s main strength is older Smart TVs. Samsung’s and LG’s own stores limit which players run on older models, and many current players only support recent ones. Net IPTV lists Samsung Tizen TVs from 2016 to 2020 and LG webOS versions 1.0 to 5.0, which covers many TVs that newer apps skip. On newer TVs, compare it with the options in the best IPTV apps for Samsung and for LG.
Set up Net IPTV
- Install Net IPTV from your TV’s app store (Samsung Apps, the LG Content Store or the VIDAA store) or from Google Play or the App Store on other devices.
- Open the app and note the MAC address or app ID it shows. See IPTV MAC addresses.
- On a phone or computer, open netiptv.eu, go to the upload page, enter the MAC address and add your playlist link.
- Restart the app on the TV. Your channels load from the uploaded playlist.
With an Xtream Codes login rather than a playlist link, build an M3U link first; see Xtream Codes to M3U.
Activation and the trial
The developer offers a free test version. When the trial ends, the uploaded list is removed from the TV and the server unless the device is activated. Activation was 6.79 euros per TV or device for 24 months, or 13.99 euros unlimited, when we checked the payment page. The developer is blunt that payment doesn’t include any lists and won’t fix a list that doesn’t work, and that it won’t refund in those cases, so test your playlist during the trial first.
Common problems
| Message or problem | Likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| “Server (URL) connection timeout” or “Check URL” | The playlist address is wrong, redirects or is blocked | Use a direct link, not a shortened or redirecting one; test it elsewhere first |
| “No content uploaded” | Nothing is linked to this MAC address | Upload again with the MAC the app shows now |
| MAC address changed | You switched between Wi-Fi and Ethernet | Each TV has two MAC addresses; upload for the one in use |
| Channels play badly on an older TV | The TV’s processor struggles with large lists | Trim the playlist, or plug in a stick; see buffering fixes |
Alternatives
For Samsung TVs from 2022 onwards, Smart IPTV supports newer Tizen versions. SmartOne IPTV accepts Xtream Codes logins directly. If your TV is too old for any current player, a Fire TV Stick is often the simplest fix.
