Install SS IPTV
| TV | How SS IPTV says to install it |
|---|---|
| LG smart TVs | From LG’s own app store, in any country |
| Samsung, 2012 to 2015 (non-Tizen) | Not in Samsung’s store: copy SS IPTV’s Orsay USB package to the root of a USB stick |
| Samsung Tizen, 2015 to 2019 | Copy SS IPTV’s Tizen USB package to the root of a USB stick |
| Philips | Beta: open app.ss-iptv.com in the TV’s browser |
| Sony (not Android TV), 2013 and later | Beta: several methods in SS IPTV’s guide, including USB |
SS IPTV’s guide lists the exact Samsung model ranges for each USB package. On newer Samsung TVs, see IPTV on a Samsung TV for apps from Samsung’s own store. The Philips and Sony versions are in beta, and SS IPTV says it can’t guarantee every function works.
Add a playlist link (external playlist)
The quickest way, and the one to use if your provider gave you an M3U link:
- In SS IPTV, open Settings, then Content, then External playlists.
- Press Add, type a name and paste the playlist link.
- Press Save. The playlist appears as its own tile on the main screen.
You can add as many external playlists as you like, in M3U, XSPF, ASX or PLS format. If your provider sent Xtream Codes details instead, build the link first; see Xtream Codes to M3U.
Upload a playlist file (internal playlist)
If you have an M3U file rather than a link:
- In SS IPTV, open Settings, then General, and press Get code. The code works for 24 hours, or until you generate a new one.
- On a computer, open the playlist editor on the SS IPTV website, enter the code and choose Add Device.
- Select your M3U file and press Save.
The playlist appears on the TV under the My playlist tile. You can have one uploaded playlist for live channels and one for films, and uploading a new one replaces the old. SS IPTV says the file must be encoded as UTF-8 to upload correctly.
“Failed to load remote content”
SS IPTV’s FAQ gives four causes for this error:
- The link is wrong: the host or address doesn’t exist. Check it was pasted in full, including
http://. - The server blocks unknown apps: some servers refuse requests from apps or headers they don’t recognise.
- The server restricts by IP address: only certain addresses can connect.
- A missing CORS header: the TV needs the server to allow cross-origin requests.
The last three are on the server’s side, so if the link works in VLC but not in SS IPTV, ask your provider or try another player. See M3U playlist not working.
SS IPTV or another player?
SS IPTV is free and quick to try on an LG TV. If it doesn’t suit your login or you want more features, compare Smart IPTV and the other options in IPTV on an LG TV, or use a streaming stick.
